Summary U.S. Wildland Fire Service (USWFS) This Wildland Fighter (Prevention) position is with the US Wildland Fire Service, GW-0456-11 working in the following location(s): Grants Pass, Oregon Medford, Oregon Responsibilities As a Wildland Firefighter (Prevention) your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Develops, coordinates, and implements educational school programs, meetings, and events with tribal governments and local communities to reduce loss resulting from wildland fire. Leads the wildfire prevention and mitigation program and facilitates local, state, and regional/national/tribal forums. Develops and implements strategic wildfire mitigations and protection plans during wildfire events to assess actual and potential risks and hazards. Directs the identification and analysis of major causes of wildland fire and ensures that these causes are addressed in wildland fire management plans.
