WELDER LEADER

Summary You will serve as a WELDER LEADER in the Machine Shop Branch (Code 1440.2) Production Division (Code 1440) in the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) (Code 1400) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will provide technical direction to welders, shipfitters and helpers in the manufacture and repair of propeller and propulsor components utilized on naval vessels. You will perform electric arc welding utilizing various processes, such as mig, tig and shielded electrode, in the repair and manufacture of propeller and propulsor components. You will utilize gauges tools and equipment used in the welder trade, such as regulators, flowmeters, rectifiers, pneumatic grinders, hand tools, etc. You will inform supervision of work progress and status including actual or potential work problems and possible work delays.
