Mō te tūnga | About the role
We have a permanent vacancy for a Victim Adviser at the New Zealand Parole Board. Victim Advisers are responsible for informing victims on the Victim Notification Register (VNR) about upcoming offender hearings and assisting them to make submissions and participate in the parole process. They also call victims after hearings to let them know the Board's decision.
Day-to-day activities include:
* Contacting victims before an upcoming hearing to let them know what to expect and how to participate in the process.
* Informing victims about the outcome of a hearing promptly.
* Advising victims on local and national support services.
