The Faculty of Arts, University of Helsinki, invites applications for the position of


UNIVERSITY LECTURER OF THEORETICAL PHILOSOPHY

for a fixed-term position 1.8.2026-31.12.2031 (or starting as agreed).

The position includes a six-month trial period and is located at the Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies.

The applicant is expected to have in-depth expertise in the field of knowledge theory as well as sufficient expertise in teaching other core fields of theoretical philosophy (particularly metaphysics and philosophy of mind) in both the bachelor’s and master’s programmes. Expertise in the philosophy of language is considered an asset. The appointee’s teaching duties include lecture courses and master’s seminars related to the theory of knowledge and other core fields of theoretical philosophy. The assignment also includes the planning of new courses.
