Trauma‑Informed Social Worker – Women in Custody

Department of Corrections NZ is seeking a Social Worker for a new women’s unit based at Waikeria Prison in the Waikato region. You will support the well-being of women, including mothers, in a multi-disciplinary setting and lead practice in mothers with babies units while navigating child protection processes.

The role emphasises trauma-informed approaches, strong professional judgment, and building relationships across teams to prepare women and their children for a safer transition on release.
