West Vancouver Transit has an immediate opening for a permanent full‑time Transit Mechanic Apprentice.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Transit Mechanic Apprentice will perform mechanical overhaul, repair, and maintenance tasks on transit vehicles in the shop or in the field, complete complex mechanical assessments, diagnose electronic components through diagnostic testing and troubleshooting using relevant computer software, submit reports and maintain records, perform gas and electrical welding tasks, and undertake other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Truck and Transport Mechanic with SkilledTradesBC and a Red Seal Certificate of Qualification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic upon completion of the apprenticeship program.
• Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate with air brake endorsement.
