Tool Maker Position

Our client, a leading engineering firm specialising in plastic injection systems, wants to appoint a Tool Maker at their plant in Epping, Cape Town. The person will be responsible for operating various machines to perform high precision machining jobs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manufacturing and machine spares according to production requirements.
• Ensuring that breakdowns are attended to in time.
• Ensuring that all planned maintenances are completed as per schedule.
• Providing maximum machine efficiency with minimum breakdowns.
• Ensuring that maintenance carried out is of high quality.
• Working with fine tolerances.
• Preventative maintenance on moulds, reporting on the mould condition and replacement parts.
• Troubleshooting initiatives.
• Repairing of moulds, fitting replacement parts/spares.
• Stripping, repairing and understanding plastic injection systems.
