Technician (Production)

Purpose

To ensure that the machines run to the specification established by the Technician Department and that the containers are produced to the customers agreed specification – also a focus on minimizing downtime and scrap levels.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Ensure machines and equipment are in good running order. Report any defects to supervision and carry out any remedial work within the technician's competence.
• Ensure product arriving at the packing station meets acceptable quality standards; conduct regular quality checks for visual faults, weight, and correct paperwork.
• Remove, clean, refit, realign or otherwise adjust moulding machine parts within the technician's competence, including heads, tooling, blowpins, blades, and ancillary equipment.
• Ensure raw material supplies are constant by changing over bins; report to supervision if a usable bin is not available before a problem occurs.
