The Secondary Teacher Librarian is responsible for the management and development of the Secondary library in support of the programs it serves.
The Secondary Teacher Librarian acts as a catalyst for literacy and inquiry, supporting the development of students' research, analysis, and synthesis skills. By curating a diverse collection of resources (print and digital) and promoting a deep love for reading and literature across various cultures and genres, this role ensures the library serves as a vibrant, inclusive, and safe learning environment tailored to individual, pair, and group needs.
Beyond resource management, the position provides significant value by advocating for information literacy, advancing academic integrity, integrating ICT into the curriculum, and supporting staff in their interactions between the resources and skills that support learning.
