Summary About the Position: Serves as Assistant Chief in charge of fire prevention activities and associated training functions. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. Serves as Assistant Chief in charge of firefighting and hazardous materials containment activities in the absence of the regularly assigned officer. Oversees the determination of training needs for personnel assigned to the fire prevention function. Advises, counsels and instructs employees on both work and administrative matters.
