Certifications for Water Treatment and Distribution and Wastewater Treatment

Under the authority of the Superintendent of the Environmental Service, the operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant (treatment and distribution) and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The operator is also responsible to monitor and operate computerized controlled systems and related equipment in the Treatment Plant. He executes his work in accordance with the requirements established by the Ministry of the Environment of Ontario.

• High School Diploma
• Possess the appropriate certification as per the Ministry of the Environment of Ontario’s regulations or the equivalent
• Have two (2) years of relevant experience
• Manual skills in mechanic and equipment maintenance, an asset
