Job overview

The post holder, in conjunction with members of the safeguarding team will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that service users receive the highest standard of care. The Specialist Midwife Safeguarding Children will work closely with the Named Midwife in order to safeguard the welfare of vulnerable women and babies. The post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise in relation to the safeguarding of vulnerable women and babies and provide specialist advice, education, supervision and support to health care professionals who are dealing with cases of concern. The post holder will be required to ensure that safeguarding plans are implemented and progressed in order to safeguard the welfare of the mother and baby; this includes safe discharge planning.
