Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provides psychiatric care to inpatients and outpatients with mental or psychological illnesses.
- Performs psychiatric consultations and handles referrals from other physicians.
- Engages in preventive care as part of an integrated program of curative and preventive medicine.
- Provides the full range of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment to patients, both inpatient and outpatient.
- Handles consultations of cases referred from other services by offering clinical advice or assuming full responsibility of the care.
- Contributes to the orientation of physicians, psychologists, nurses and other Medical Organization personnel in the early detection, recognition, management or referral of psychiatric cases.
- Participates in continuing medical education for physicians and nurses by giving talks in staff meetings, presenting cases in ward rounds, and lecturing to nurses.
