Specialist - General Surgery

Performs all management functions and duties of a general surgeon and provides expert medical care for ambulatory and hospitalized patients, including pre‑ and post‑operative cases and surgical procedures within incumbent’s competence. Performs professional duties in the OPD, renders out‑patient surgical care to patients as needed, provides consultation services to physicians and other surgeons and specialists as required, assumes after‑hours responsibilities for surgical cases, makes daily rounds for hospitalized patients, orders diagnostic laboratory studies and X‑ray examinations to determine diagnosis and prescribe therapy, determines eligibility of patients for admission, adheres to the By‑laws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Department to ensure work meets the standards of the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals, consults with anesthesiologist on choice of anesthesia, participates in in‑service activities such as lectures, conference...
