Position
Southeast Asia Bureau Chief at The New York Times – Singapore, Singapore 00, SG. Full‑time on‑site position. The bureau chief will lead coverage of political, geopolitical, cultural, climate, identity, gender, religion, tech, socio‑economic, corruption, and other topics across Southeast Asia.
Main Responsibilities- Cover live and breaking news, enterprise and investigative stories in the region.
- Generate story concepts and execute them with high‑quality writing.
- Build and manage a network of stringers, reporters, and translators for sourcing and reporting.
- Collaborate with regional reporters during major news moments.
- Work with Photo, Video, Audio, and other departments to produce stories in multiple formats across NYT products.
- Oversee bureau logistics, operations, and staff.
- Demonstrate commitment to the company’s values of journalistic independence and truth‑seeking.
