Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) is an Acute Care hospital with over 1,100 beds. It serves as the Trauma Centre for Southern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia and Western Saskatchewan. FMC also houses a Neuro Tertiary Unit and the majority of in‑patient neurological services in Calgary. The present caseload for this position is in the Emergency Department, with the potential for coverage on any unit/service as required. Working collaboratively within the Emergency Department Social Work team and the interdisciplinary care team, the incumbent will provide a full range of social work services, including psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, patient and family support, discharge planning, resource navigation, advocacy and coordination of community services.
