Job Description

Summary You will serve as a SHIPBUILDING SPECIALIST in the CONTRACTING DEPARTMENT (CODE 420) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will plan and coordinate on-site reviews for the evaluation of personnel protection/prevention and safety programs. You will conduct daily shipboard safety inspections and makes on the spot recommendations to correct unsatisfactory and unsafe conditions. You will report findings to the involved contractor, divisions, and stakeholders. You will utilize the output of various contractor systems and procedures for cost estimating, labor and overhead, budgeting, purchasing and resource planning. You will prevent unauthorized modifications/alterations to any vessels (surface ship, submarine, small vessels, and living barges) in preparation for, or during execution of a scheduled period of port time.
