Job Description
The successful engineering candidate must possess a valid ABSA boiler operator ticket of the appropriate class.
Responsibilities
- The duties include, but are not limited to, checking and maintaining the steam generating equipment, compressed air equipment and the wastewater equipment. These will include feedwater, softeners and chemical feeds for the boiler; air driers, compressors and accumulation tanks and piping for the compressed air equipment; clarifiers, centrifuges and pumps, as well as chemicals and controllers for the wastewater system.
- The engineer shall provide a copy of the appropriate ABSA boiler operator’s ticket that is in good standing.
- Each engineer shall maintain and keep an official boiler log as required by ABSA as well as an hourly record of the boiler pressures, temperatures and levels in concurrence with the present ABSA Legislation.
- All other duties as required by maintenance lead hands or supervisor.
