Job Description
Teach at UPEI as a Sessional Instructor focused on Indigenous Knowledge during Fall 2026. Engage with students in The Mi’Kmaq of Eastern Canada and promote an inclusive learning environment.
The position requires teaching IKE-2230 starting September 8, 2026, with a commitment to fostering student learning and supporting Indigenous pedagogical practices. You will integrate personal experiences and traditional knowledge into course content, promoting diversity and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct IKE-2230 classes scheduled throughout the week
• Encourage student engagement through active learning
• Share valuable oral and written stories from Elders
• Support students’ intellectual and cultural growth
• Utilize traditional Indigenous knowledge in teaching
Requirements:
• Master’s degree required
• Experience in Indigenous pedagogy critical
• Demonstrated leadership in reconciliation preferred
• Proof of Indigenous status is necessary
