Senior Policy Advisor | Energy Markets

About the Role

This role is part of the Energy Markets Branch, working on a nationally significant LNG project that seeks to secure New Zealand’s energy future and reduce electricity risk. You will contribute to high‑impact policy analysis, advise on complex energy issues, lead projects, guide teams and support the development of others. The position is a fixed‑term, full‑time assignment of 12 months, based in Wellington only.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to policy analysis and provide advice on complex energy issues.
• Lead projects and guide teams across procurement, legislation, operating models and funding.
• Support others’ development and collaborate with key stakeholders across government and industry.
• Deliver results in a fast‑paced environment with tight Cabinet timetables.
