Senior Legal Counsel - Shipping

We are working with a leading global commodities trading business seeking a shipping counsel to join their legal department.

This is a high-impact role supporting commercial activity across freight, chartering, and trading operations in a fast-paced, international environment.

The Role

You will advise on a broad range of shipping and freight matters, working closely with traders, operators, and commercial teams on live transactions and ongoing operations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Drafting and negotiating charterparties (voyage, time charters, COAs)
• Advising on freight and chartering issues, including laytime, demurrage, and off-hire
• Providing legal support on trading activity during voyages, including cargo diversions and delivery issues
