Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs and layout drawings using HydraCAD Software
- Perform hydraulic calculations and material take-offs in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
- Review architectural, structural, and mechanical plans to ensure proper system coordination
- Prepare submittals, fabrication drawings, and as-built documentation
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to ensure design intent and code compliance
- Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance
- Stay current with updates to fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, etc.)
- Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients, contractors, and AHJs
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in fire sprinkler or fire protection design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Navisworks, and/or Revit
