PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To co-ordinate the Sampling Department activities and manage the Geology Observers to provide accurate and timeous Grade Control and Ore Accounting related information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or NQF 4 Equivalent
COM Advanced Valuation Certificate
1-3 years' experience as a Senior Sampler
Valid Medical certificate is essential or must be medically fit.
COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrate knowledge of the most common harmful gases and Mine safety hazards
Demonstrate basic understanding of different activities related to sampling field work
Demonstrate understanding of different activities related to sampling observations
Knowledge of basic geology and rock types
Demonstrate knowledge of the various sampling techniques
Knowledge of the factors that affect ore grades
