Role Overview:
The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for building and managing relationships with transportation carriers to secure capacity and negotiate competitive rates. This role supports logistics and brokerage operations by ensuring reliable carrier coverage, maintaining strong partnerships, and contributing to operational efficiency and margin performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, onboard, and maintain relationships with transportation carriers.
- Negotiate rates and capacity with carriers to support shipment coverage.
- Secure carrier capacity for assigned loads and lanes.
- Communicate load details, expectations, and requirements clearly to carriers.
- Monitor shipments and proactively address issues or delays with carriers.
- Maintain accurate carrier and load information in internal systems.
