Safety Codes Officer

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is looking for professional, friendly, and self‑motivated individuals to join the Planning & Development Department. Reporting to the Manager, Safety Codes, the Safety Codes Officer performs compliance monitoring in the Plumbing/Gas/PSDS discipline.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

• Provides administrative, technical review, and Code compliance monitoring services for buildings.
• Conduct plans examinations and issues permits.
• Investigate and respond to complaints, questions, and/or inquiries related to permit applications, installations, code requirements, standards, the Safety Codes Act, and City Bylaws.
• Providing inspections of buildings at appropriate construction stages to verify compliance or identify code deficiencies and/or unsafe conditions.
