SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

Summary Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. Telework availability is limited and will only be provided on a rare case-by-case basis during situations where Agency Leadership has determined that telework serves a compelling DoD need. Responsibilities Conducts routine inspections and investigative work in enforcing occupational safety and health laws. Conducts training in accident prevention, safety work methods, and hazard identification. Provides recommendations for abatement of unsafe work habits and/or conditions in compliance with safety standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and operating instructions. Monitors work-order submission, progress, and completion for assigned areas and ensures that abatement plans are prepared when necessary.
