RIGGER

Summary You will serve as a RIGGER in the Waterfront Support Department, Crane and Division of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the planning, laying out, assembling, repairing, testing, and installing complex weight handling gear and various standing and running rigging to move and/or remove. You will plan rigging jobs for movement of shipboard components, equipment, or material through confined submarine, shop, and other areas. You will estimate weight and center of gravity of item to be moved. You will provide direction to crane operators to provide for the safe and effective movement of items to and from submarines, shops and other areas. You will operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, JLG man-lift high reach equipment, trucks, etc. You will manufacture, fabricate and repair standing and running rigging required to support movement of items with cranes or weight handling equipment.
