Job Description
A Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is a permanently assigned hospital doctor who provides round-the-clock medical coverage. Acting as the vital bridge between patients, nursing staff, and senior consultants, RMOs manage day-to-day inpatient care, handle emergencies, and perform clinical procedures.
DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Perform daily morning and evening rounds, usually with nursing staff, to closely monitor patient progress.
Administer prescribed medications, order diagnostic tests (such as X-rays and blood work), and perform routine procedures.
Prepare and document discharge summaries, diagnoses, and outpatient follow-up plans.
Serve as the immediate first point of contact for clinical emergencies and resuscitations before senior specialists arrive.
Cover night shifts, weekends, and holidays according to the hospital roster to ensure continuous patient safety.
