Research Fellow (Biomedical Optics)

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking a Research Fellow to design and advance the Centre’s research activities in biomedical optics–related projects. The role involves experimental optics research for diagnostics and spectroscopy, developing novel bioimaging approaches and instrumentation, and collaborating with external partners.

• Design and conduct experiments for diagnostic and spectroscopic analysis of biological samples.
• Prepare and handle biological samples, including cells, tissues, organoids, or in vivo models, in accordance with biosafety and ethical protocols.
• Manage the research project in a team‑based, cross‑functional environment, mentoring students and collaborating with technical and support staff.
• Publish research outcomes in journals of international standing and present findings at academic meetings.
