Job Description
The Signature Research Programme in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disordershouses state-of-the-art technologies for profiling mitochondrial function and metabolic adaptations in human patients and other model organisms, and undertakes translational and clinical research in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.
Dr Zhou Jin’s research focuses on molecular pharmacology to understand the mechanisms underlying disease, particularly dysregulation in mitochondrial function, autophagy, protein synthesis, and the activation of inflammation and fibrosis, with a strong emphasis on metabolic liver diseases. Her work integrates cell and molecular biology with preclinical disease models, alongside approaches such as transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and genetic analyses. Through these multidisciplinary strategies, her research aims to uncover novel molecular mechanisms of disease and support the development of new therapeutic strategies and potential treatment agents.
