Registered Practical Nurse - Long Term Ventilation

Position Summary

As a member of a multi‑disciplinary team, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) practices in accordance with relevant legislation, the UHN Professional Practice Model, and the mission and vision of nursing at UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.

Duties

• Plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice in the context of an interdisciplinary practice.
• Use current theoretical and research knowledge and the input of team members to plan and implement care for patients and families.
• Participate in inter‑professional team care planning forums, inter‑professional rounds, and family conferences.
• Provide mentorship to RPN students and new staff on the unit.
