Job Description
Summary of Duties
The RPN is responsible for initiation, monitoring and discontinuation of hemodialysis treatments of in-centre patients. As a member of the inter‑professional team providing person‑centered care, the RPN will complete patient assessments, health teaching & family counselling, documentation, set‑up/monitoring & trouble‑shooting of hemodialysis machines and respond to rapid changes in the patient’s hemodynamic status within the scope of practice for a hemodialysis RPN in partnership with the RNs.
The RPN will play an active role in the unit on quality improvement/research project teams.
Qualifications/Skills
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current B.C.L.S. Certificate required
- 1 year current hemodialysis experience required
- 2 yaear acute care experience preferred
- 1 year Gambro Artis hemodialysis machine use preferred
