Registered Nurse - Pain Management

Summary The Day Shift Pain Management Registered Nurse (RN) will assist our Veterans at the Leavenworth and Topeka, KS VAMCs. Responsibilities ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Assists physician(s) with nursing-related care for pain procedures. Performs pre- and post-procedural care of pain patients. Performs ambulatory pain clinic nursing care. Provides full range of nursing services utilizing the nursing process. Assess the needs of Veterans and caregivers while coordinating services across a multidisciplinary team. Deliver education focused on chronic disease management, reducing hospitalizations, and promoting independence. Build strong, supportive relationships with Veterans and their families. Administers prescribed therapies using nursing judgement. Promotes discharge planning and follow up care as needed. Listens to and includes patient and family in plan of care.
