About AIRoA

AI Robot Association, AIRoA, is an organization dedicated to collecting large-scale real-world robotics data, including data from humanoid robots, and advancing the development of generative AI foundation models for robotics.

AIRoA has been selected under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, METI, and NEDO’s “Post-5G Information and Communication Systems Infrastructure Enhancement R&D Project” to develop a data platform for generative AI foundation models in robotics. The project has a budget of JPY 20.5 billion. Leveraging this platform, AIRoA is working to collect one million hours of humanoid robot operation data using more than 100 robots, with the goal of developing a world-class Vision-Language-Action, VLA, model.

This initiative is distinguished not only by the scale of its real-world data and humanoid robotics platform, but also by its commitment to openness. AIRoA aims to make datasets, trained models, benchmarks...
