Job Description

Role Overview

Registered Psychologist – Cancer and Blood Services – Radiation Oncology, Whangarei Hospital. Permanent full‑time (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday). Provide psychological assessment and care in collaboration with patients and families to support patients receiving radiotherapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver psychological assessment and care for patients within the Radiotherapy Oncology Unit in the new Whangarei Base Hospital building.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to plan and implement evidence‑based interventions, including Mindfulness, CBT, ACT, and other therapeutic approaches.
  • Provide psychological treatment plans and interventions that address psychosocial, behavioural, and coping challenges related to cancer treatment.
