Professor of Molecular Cell Biology and Biochemistry

Responsibilities Lead an independent, world‑class research program in cellular organization and dynamics at the interface of cell biology, biochemistry, and biophysics. Investigate spatial, temporal, and biophysical organization of cells, gene expression, genome organization and plasticity, regulation of cell growth and division, organelle function, membrane biology, membrane‑less compartments, intracellular trafficking, and mechanisms of quality control and cellular homeostasis. Develop new technologies to probe cellular parameters and formulate unified models of cellular function that go beyond correlative observations. Engage with complementary expertise within the Department of Biology, including structural biology, functional genomics, systems and computational biology, tissue development, homeostasis, and molecular oncology.
