Job Description

About the role:
The Principal Policy Adviser leads and contributes to the development and delivery of complex policy and reform initiatives across Victoria's end of life care system, including palliative care and voluntary assisted dying (VAD). The role supports system‑wide continuous improvement through the application of policy, legislative and reform levers to strengthen quality, safety, equity and system effectiveness.
The role plays a key role in progressing major policy and reform priorities across palliative care and VAD, including the implementation of recommendations from the VAD five-year review, VAD legislative amendments, Victoria's Palliative and End of Life Care Framework 2026-36 and other government and departmental priorities. This includes working closely with cross government and sector stakeholders to support reforms that are well designed, effectively implemented and embedded consistently across the system.
