Job Overview
The Purchasing Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the purchasing/procurement department. The role focuses on executing operational processes and supports the Purchasing/Procurement Manager or Director. The Purchasing Assistant ensures timely and accurate formula requests, item and ingredient needs, and maintains communication with procurement, formulation, production and customer service teams.
Responsibilities
- Review, process, and execute weekly mill and warehouse order requests, ensuring supply and timeliness.
- Create and administer contract purchase orders from bookings made by buyer.
- Review, process, and execute daily formulation requests, ensuring accuracy, legality and manufacturability.
- Handle inbound trucking and ingredient issues as needed.
