About the Position

We invite applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow in statistics and data science at the Department of Mathematics. The fellowship is for three years, starting as soon as possible. The place of work is the Department of Mathematics at Blindern Campus, Oslo, and the position is associated with the newly established Norwegian Maritime AI Centre (MAI). You will work with students, PhD candidates, researchers, and industry partners.

The candidate will be affiliated with the Statistics and Data Science Section, which is active in applied and theoretical statistics, machine learning, and research at the intersection of statistics and AI. The focus of this postdoctoral fellowship is to conduct cutting‑edge research on AI‑based forecasting and analytics for shipbroking and maritime decision support.
