Applied Physics Position Description The Schiffer electrochemical engineering laboratory at Harvard University invites applications for a postdoctoral position in electrochemical engineering reactor design and characterization, beginning in October 2026, or soon thereafter. The applicant will be working on building electrochemical devices and investigating new electrochemical reactions, such as nitrogen cycle reactions or intermediate temperature electrochemical processes. The candidate will work closely with Professor Zachary Schiffer on projects related to understanding how voltage can be used to drive processes that currently rely on large scales and severe reaction conditions. Specifically, the Schiffer lab focuses on how device-scale design decisions such as temperature and electrolyte flow patterns influence electocatalyst activity.
