Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for callers to 9‑1‑1 and other police assistance services.
• Keep callers calm during emergencies to gather information quickly and help ensure public and officer safety.
• Monitor police resources and dispatch systems using computer‑aided dispatch.
• Respond to public requests for police assistance and provide emergency services as a Public Safety Answering Point.
• Work irregular hours – mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays – as the 9‑1‑1 Police Dispatch Centre operates 24/7.
