PO325: Social Policy in the Global South (Fall 2026)

Position Summary

: 
 This course starts by exploring our understanding of social policy in a global landscape. Who are the main stakeholders? What are the key processes for pursuing transnational social policy goals? How is global social policy evolving in this new millennium? How do debates about social policy relate to debates about development? Topics covered can include poverty and social protection, child and maternal health, and migration and human displacement. The region(s) of focus will be determined by instructor.
