PC Platforms Kernel Engineer - Ubuntu Linux

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality kernel support for a wide range of hardware devices. You will work with upstream developers and driver vendors to integrate the latest hardware support into Ubuntu. The role involves working on hardware support, kernel patching, debugging, and optimizing performance for Ubuntu on various platforms, with opportunities for international travel and working in a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Significant programming experience in C
• Knowledge of Linux kernel and subsystems
• Experience with kernel patching and debugging
• Knowledge of upstream processes and release cycle
• Strong understanding of device drivers and low-level system engineering
