Payroll Manager – University of Canterbury – Christchurch, NZ

The University of Canterbury is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join its People and Culture team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis, covering parental leave. This role offers a leadership opportunity within a large, values‑led organisation where accuracy, trust and service delivery are critical.

We employ approximately 4,000‑4,500 staff. The payroll team, led by you, comprises about 10 specialists and support staff. You will maintain ongoing payroll delivery while steering the team through a period of change as the university moves toward a new system (Workday). You will also coordinate with People and Culture, Digital, Finance, auditors and external advisors.

• Lead, support and develop the payroll team
