Patient Care Tech, PCT - Medical 5 Telemetry

**Unit Summary:**

This ​39-bed Med Surg/Tele unit cares primarily for adult acute care patients who have a wide variety of diagnosis and co-morbidities. Patients most commonly have cardiac and medical conditions but may also be post-surgical. Common medical diagnoses are chest pain, pneumonia, renal failure, COPD, CHF, atrial fibrillation, GI bleed and syncope. Post pacemaker and Cardiac Cath/PCI patients can be placed here as well. These patients require telemetry monitoring.

Medical 5 encourages staff involvement in shared governance and continued professional growth. It has been recognized as the Daisy Team of the Year. This unit includes a variety of new graduates and experienced nurses who collaborate with multidiscipline to provide high quality care.
