About the role
Kickstart your midwifery career in the Southern region, where you will be supported to grow, learn, and thrive. Our 12‑month Midwifery First Year of Practice (MFYP) programme (0.8FTE, with flexibility to 0.6) offers hands‑on experience across a variety of settings—from tertiary hospitals to primary and rural maternity units.
Responsibilities
As a New Graduate Midwife you will:
- Rotate through antenatal, labour and birth, and postnatal care.
- Experience caseload midwifery and work within a well‑connected maternity system.
- Receive strong clinical support from experienced midwives, preceptors, and clinical coaches.
- Participate in a tailored orientation programme that builds confidence quickly.
- Contribute to whānau‑centred care in a supportive community of midwives.
