Mental Health Counsellor

We are seeking a Mental Health Counsellor to join our health and wellness team at the ‘Na̱mg̱is First Nation Health Centre. Reporting to the Health Centre Administrator, the Mental Health Counsellor provides mental health counselling services to all age groups including children, youth, adults, and Elders.

Job Responsibilities:

• Providing direct counselling to ‘Na̱mg̱is First Nation community members including assessment, treatment, referral and follow-up, working primarily with individuals, families or groups
• Providing counselling that is often related to crisis, trauma, suicide, domestic violence, sexual, physical, or emotional abuse
• Providing timely and solution-oriented assessment and intervention services to address crisis situations and traumatic events using the case management model, and mobilizes and utilizes resources within the community as appropriate
