Core Clinical Function

Attend all emergency patients presented to the Emergency service promptly within stipulated time. Immediate response to Emergency codes and Emergency Response Team (ERT) alert. Provide initial assessment & examination, diagnosis and appropriate treatment for emergency patients in A&E, related clinical areas and in-patient wards within their level of experience and competence. Communicate effectively the preliminary diagnosis, treatment options and health management with patient prior disposition or referrals. Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care. Facilitate external and internal referrals, coordinate patient transfers for further management and continuation of care. Ensure duties and functions undertaken in a manner that minimizes delay or service disruption.
