Medical Laboratory Technologist - Next-Generation Sequencing and Immunohistochemistry, Advanced Diagnostics

The Medical Laboratory Technologist reports to the Manager of the Advanced Diagnostics team.

Responsibilities

• Perform the range of tests and procedures related to immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology
• Perform, interpret and release results
• Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technology
• Ensure that the work of assigned staff meets quality and safety standards; identify opportunities for improvement
• Perform projects, validations and proficiency testing as directed by charge technologist or director

Qualifications

• Medical laboratory technologist with CSMLS certification
• Current registration with CMLTO in good standing
• Experience with recent clinical gene technologies:
  • DNA/RNA extraction from various sample types
