Summary This vacancy is for a GS-0963-6/7, Mariner Credentialing Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Regional Exam Center in Memphis, Tennessee and Oakland, California. Responsibilities You will serve as a Mariner Credentialing Specialist and be responsible for licensing and documentation of merchant mariners and examining merchant marine personnel in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Reviewing and process applications including licenses, documents, endorsements, and certificates. Identifying non-conformities in application packages, such as incomplete documentation or eligibility issues, that may cause delays or preventing issuance of credentials.
